So what is the best treadmill for you? When there are so many treadmill brands to choose from, it’s difficult to whittle down the list. So have a good think about what your major limiting factors are! For instance if space is an issue you will probably want a lighter weight folding treadmill, whereas if you have the space to leave it set up, which will also mean you’re more likely to use it on a regular basis, then look for something a bit sturdier, probably with a larger running surface and many of the other benefits of a higher end treadmill.
For instance if you intend this to be your main exercise, and why not as running is known to be one of the best calorie burners, and treadmills are easier on the knees than pounding the streets, and it isn’t reliant on the weather, then have you got the drive and motivation to pound the running board without distraction? Or do you want to look at treadmills that include in built sound systems and wireless video and music straight on your tracking screen?
The purpose of this guide is to direct you through the myriad of options. There are three main segments of the market as far as I am concerned. Ancheer Treadmills, Proform Treadmills and NordicTrack Treadmills, and I will review a few models from each brand to give you a bit of guidance. 🙂
You can visit any of the brands reviews by clicking on one of the links below.
From the Ancheer range, my personal recommendation would be the Ancheer S6200. An absolute steal for those in apartments, at a shade under $850. Well worth the money in terms of the features it delivers, in fact I don’t think you can get the same level of features for that money anywhere else. Although a folding treadmill it is a little on the larger size as well, which is bad if you are desperate for space saving (if so look at the Ancheer 8100 which at under $550 would be a great buy for the space:features trade off), but is laden with features that will make the grind that little more bearable. 🙂 For more info, check out my review by clicking on the below article.
From Proform, I rate the Proform 600i, not their cheapest model I grant you, but packed with really useful features at less than half the cost of the Ancheer 6100… Bargain, and peanuts more than the Ancheer 8100, for $50 less! I personally do, and that’s why I recommend the Proform 600i as the best Proform treadmill.
Ultimately though, if you are going to spend $1000 on a treadmill, the only way you should be going for is the Nordictrack C990 treadmill when you want to get the most authentic running experience but value your knees and are realistic enough to use it all year round and maximise the benefits, in all weathers you would be able to run, no more excuses! 🙂 When looking for the best treadmill… I would definitely consider the benefits of the Nordictrack C990!
